No. Your key is a one-time thing — no subscription, no recurring charge, no renewal email a year from now. All future updates to the shell and all future apps are included with your key.
Your key covers 2 machines simultaneously. If you get a new machine, deactivate the old one from Settings → Key → Manage Devices to free a slot.
You receive a key by email. Download the installer from this page, run it, and enter the key on first launch. The whole setup takes under five minutes.
All of them. Notes, Bundles, Snippets, Calculator, Email, Telegram, and DeepL are available now. Apps are installed and removed freely from the App Library. More apps will be added over time — all included at no extra cost.
No. That's the whole point. Start with zero apps and add exactly what you need. Remove them the moment you stop using them. Anchor never installs anything without your explicit action.
Some apps (Notes, Snippets, Bundles) store your data in a Supabase database — a free, open-source backend. You use the same Supabase project that powers your Anchor account. The app can only read or write rows that belong to your user ID. Nothing is shared between users.
App data (notes, snippets, bundles) lives in the Supabase project that backs your account. API keys for third-party services (DeepL, Telegram) are stored in the OS keychain via Electron's safeStorage — never on any server. Anchor does not send your content anywhere beyond your own Supabase instance.
The Calculator works fully offline. Notes, Snippets, and Bundles require a Supabase connection to sync. Key verification happens about once a week; if you're offline, Anchor continues to run normally for up to 14 days before needing a re-check.
The app's cached files are removed from your machine. Your data in Supabase is not deleted unless you explicitly choose "Also delete my data" during uninstall. You can reinstall the app at any time and pick up exactly where you left off.
Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit only. macOS support is on the roadmap but has no confirmed timeline. Linux is not planned.
Anchor updates itself automatically via GitHub Releases — a notification appears when a new version is ready, and it installs on next restart. Individual apps update independently: Anchor checks for app updates on each launch and downloads them in the background.
